Get ready to deck the halls (and your taste buds) with this delicious Pull-Apart Christmas Tree recipe! This dish is the ultimate holiday comfort food and is made with fluffy dough, gooey cheese, and savoury pizza sauce. Plus, it’s super fun to assemble and serve – just pull off a piece and enjoy!

Ingredients:

500 grams of refrigerated pizza dough
Egg wash (1 egg whisked with 1 tbsp water)
7 mozzarella sticks
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan
1 tbsp. Thinly sliced basil
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
1 tbsp. chopped rosemary
Pizza sauce, warmed (for serving)

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 220°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Cut mozzarella sticks into 1-inch pieces, then set aside.

2. On a lightly floured surface, cut the pizza dough in half, then stretch and roll each dough into a long rectangle. Cut each dough into 2-inch squares (you’ll need 33 total).

3. Place a piece of mozzarella in the centre of each square and wrap the dough around the cheese. Place each wrapped cheese piece onto the prepared baking sheet in the shape of a Christmas tree. They should be touching.

4. Brush the dough balls with the egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

5. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix the melted butter, Parmesan, basil, parsley, and rosemary until well combined.

6. Remove the tree from the oven and brush it with the butter mixture.

7. Serve warm with pizza sauce.

Optional ways to make this dish extra special:

- Top with shredded cheese of your choice or some crispy bacon

- For a sweeter version, drizzle with honey or maple syrup

- Add some finely chopped garlic to the butter mixture

- Sprinkle with some chilli flakes for a spicier version.
