Pub Glasses
Do you remember these pub glasses? Many Aussie pubs served beer in these sturdy glasses, complete with white measurement scales. These glasses came with many names, depending on which state you are in.
In South Australia, the 200ml size was fondly called a ‘Butcher’ (or a ‘Seven’ elsewhere). Meanwhile, the 285ml glass was called a ‘Schooner’ in SA, a ‘Middy’ in NSW and WA, and a ‘Pot’ in VIC and QLD.
These quirky glasses were part of the charm and character of pub life across the country. Have you seen these glasses back in the day? Share your pub stories with us here!
