Poshmark set to leave Australia by next month! Here’s what you need to know before it's too late

Many shoppers have turned to purchasing second-hand fashion and electronics due to the ever-increasing cost of living.

Not only does it save shoppers their hard-earned dollars, but it's also considered more ethical and sustainable than buying brand-new stuff.

Despite disrupting the retail industry and breathing new life into the sustainable living movement, online marketplace Poshmark is now saying goodbye to Australia, the UK, and India.

After its introduction in 2021, the Poshmark app and website will no longer be accessible in the aforementioned countries starting November 1, 2023.

The 'difficult decision' comes after the business’s decision to 'drive meaningful growth in its core markets of the United States and Canada'.

If you have a Posh credit balance left, or if you're a small business owner and you started using the platform to sell to customers some of your digital products, there's still some time to redeem what's left in your account—but you better act quickly!

Poshmark said that customers with store credit must act within one day to redeem the funds as all remaining Posh Credit will expire after November 1.

Meanwhile, sellers with a redeemable balance have until then to transfer all the money accumulated to their PayPal or bank accounts if they have not done it already.

'Redemptions typically take one to three business days, and we recommend redeeming your balance at your earliest convenience,' said Poshmark.

Business owners also need to pay close attention to other details—like sales reports, for instance, which may be necessary as evidence for tax purposes.

It's important to ensure that all sales reports have been downloaded on or before November 1, 2023, after which such reports will no longer be accessible.

'Poshmark’s services in the United States and Canada will remain unaffected,' the company said.

This comes after news that one savvy shopper recently had an unfortunate experience at a beloved second-hand store.

She came across an overpriced item, felt frustrated, and shared her experience on social media.

The item that caught her attention was a Roxy ski jacket priced at a staggering $75 in a second-hand store—where the whole idea was to find great items at affordable prices.

According to the shopper, this certainly felt like a case of 'highway robbery' for a pre-loved item.

Never heard of it!
I use Wish for some things - can get them cheap, mostly good quality but found the tech stuff they have to be sh&t if you have to connect it to any device eg. cables; flashdrives; usb hubs and solar power packs are the most useless pieces they have in Tech - not one has worked. Best thing is you can get a refund easily if it does not work etc and don't have to return anything! the postage costs included.
Other than that i use eBay. Amazon is too expensive for postage.

Don’t shop online as a rule - have done for couple of things, but only with Australian companies! Would not touch most overseas based concerns anyway!
As an ex-retail worker would rather support jobs here! I know stores have online shopping etc, they have to, to survive but I actually enjoy going shopping in a ‘bricks & mortar’ store! In
If I can’t buy it here, then I really don’t need it! I don’t use all the credit companies either (PayPal, Zip Pay etc) .
I have heard of Poshmark & I’m not au fait with all these others - where have you peeps been - under a rock?😂🤣
I remember when I queried one of our
regular Chinese customers re why she always checked that what she bought wasn’t made in China. She casually replied ‘Because we send you all the
sh.. stuff’!! There you have it!
But, we could go to the many pre-loved clothing stores instead of adding to the problem we have with the over-production/waste of fabric items in this country (& many others!)
I love it when climate crazies go on about it all while purchasing their new clothes, or flying here & there in jets etc etc! If you “talk the talk” then you gotta “walk the walk”!! ??
