A batch of popular vitamins has been urgently recalled by authorities after mould was detected in them.
It was said that a batch of Swisse Beauty Collagen Glow Gummies are being pulled out of the shelves this week after the Therapeutic Goods Administration identified traces of Aspergillus Penicillioides — a type of mould that could pose risk to individuals who are immunocompromised.
The group said: "There's a remote risk that individuals who are immunocompromised could suffer an adverse reaction if they consume it."
While the mould could only pose a “minimal risk to the general population”, Therapeutic Goods Administration still issued a recall to prevent vulnerable populations to get their hands on them. Credit: Swisse
The batch that was being recalled includes Swisse Product SKU: 01-391-00001, Batch Number: 106188.
It was reported that the items were produced on June 9, 2021 and expires on June 2023.
