Starting in July, the Natural Confectionery Co.’s Slithery Snakes will be available with a recipe that contains 50 per cent less sugar than the original.

The revamped Slithery Snakes will maintain their reputation for being free from artificial colours, flavours, or sweeteners.

They will remain available in five scrumptious flavours: raspberry, blackcurrant, boysenberry, mango, and lime.

Mondelez International, the parent company of The Natural Confectionery Co., has expressed excitement about the new direction.


Ben Wicks, the vice president of marketing for Australia and New Zealand, highlighted the importance of innovation in response to consumer trends.

‘This product brings one of Australia's most loved lollies into a better-for-you option, serving the growing consumer interest in reduced sugar lollies while still tasting great,’ he said.

The new Natural Confectionery Co. Fifty per cent Less Sugar Snakes lollies will be hitting supermarkets nationwide in July, retailing for around $5.

Australia's largest lolly shop has been opened by an Australian confectionery company in Melbourne.
