Popular beer recalled over fears of a health risk - here's what you need to know

We all know that drinking beer is one of life's great pleasures.

But while we enjoy its taste and effects, we should always look at its alcohol content.

Beer ranges in alcohol content but the average beer has an alcohol content of 5%.

Keeping an eye on alcohol content helps us to drink responsibly and enjoy our beer even more (without any nasty headaches the next day).

Speaking of drinking responsibly, did you know that a popular beer was just recalled for its excessive alcohol content?

Woolworths and Coles have urgently recalled Eagle Bay Brewing Company XPA 375ml cans due to worries that ingesting it could be dangerous.

In both Coles and Woolworths stores in Western Australia, specific batches of beer have been removed from the shelves to prevent customers from getting their hands on the product.

'The beers may cause illness/injury if ingested,' a statement from Food Standards Australia read, explaining that the beverage is over-carbonated and contains too much alcohol.

'Consumers should not drink or open these products, and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.'

For those who suspect that you may have purchased the item, it was said that the best date for the affected product is April 19, 2023, so be sure to check the cans and return them to the stores for a refund.

Stay safe out there, folks!
