Police claim that the two teenage girls who allegedly stabbed their teacher also planned to burn the school down for weeks
Two teenagers who allegedly stabbed their teacher were accused of 'planning to kill' the educator and burn down the school for weeks, police claim.

55-year-old teacher Colleen Hayes was allegedly stabbed by two female students, aged 13 and 14, in her office at Willetton Senior High School in Perth on Monday.

The students were accused of plotting to kill the teacher, including discussing where best to stab Ms Hayes to sever an artery.

'It will be alleged the conversations related to talking about and planning to kill a teacher,' Western Australia Police said in a statement on Tuesday.

Police also claim that the pair had been discussing the gruesome plans via Discord, an instant messaging app, following the exchange of 'numerous' online messages between the two from October 14 to November 1.

The 14-year-old girl allegedly told her younger friend about her plans to 'kill a teacher', with the younger student replying that the plan 'sounds fun' and 'cool'.

The younger girl allegedly told her older friend: 'The things you do in your spare time scares me sometimes.'

Prosecutor Madelein Plester detailed the alleged planning behind the crimes, claiming that the two discussed how much gas was needed to fill classrooms, what sort of kindling they'd need to start a fire and if the gas pipes had safety switches.

The police findings also reported that the two students allegedly met up in the morning before riding to school together on bikes, with the older girl handing the knife she brought to the younger girl as she had her bags regularly checked on campus.

It is also reported that the younger girl hid the knife in her bag by wrapping it in toilet paper.

At around 11 am the two walked to a small office with Ms Hayes where the 14-year-old allegedly stabbed her in the left armpit, police say.

The teacher was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital following the attack which has left her with a 1-centimetre deep wound.

Ms Hayes has since been discharged from the hospital.

Following the incident, the 14-year-old girl, who has a history of health issues and 'past incidents of serious concern', has been ordered to a one-week hospital stay by the magistrate.

Further, the 13-year-old was granted 'extremely strict' bail which dictates she cannot contact her alleged co-conspirator, cannot contact the teacher, cannot use social media, and cannot go within 100m of the school.

In addition to her restrictions, the younger girl is also not permitted to leave her home unless accompanied.

The teenagers are set to return to court next week.
