Police blush uncontrollably as Queen Mary drops a flirty line

In a delightful twist of royal charm and wit, Queen Mary of Denmark, the Australian-born royal, recently left a team of police officers at Nuuk airport in Greenland blushing and chuckling after a playful exchange that showcased her renowned sense of humour.

The incident unfolded as the Queen, accompanied by her husband, King Frederik, was greeted by the officers and their sniffer dogs, who were on duty to ensure the safety of the visiting dignitaries.

With a twinkle in her eye and a cheeky smile, Queen Mary complimented the officers in fluent Danish, saying, 'How handsome you are!'

The policemen, caught off guard by the Queen's unexpected flattery, could only shuffle awkwardly and express their gratitude for the praise.

However, the Queen quickly clarified, bringing the house down: 'So... [are] the dogs.'

Realizing the playful misdirection, the officers erupted into laughter, releasing the tension of the moment with a collective sigh of relief.

The entire exchange was captured on camera by Greenlandic state television KNR, much to the delight of viewers.

Queen Mary's love for dogs is well-documented, and this incident further cements her reputation as a royal who can find common ground with both people and their furry companions.

During their visit to Greenland, she and King Frederik even shared the backseat of a car with a wet Border Collie, demonstrating their easygoing and accommodating personalities.

The Queen's playful banter with the police officers quickly became popular, with fans praising her good humour on social media.

Comments poured in, with one admirer saying, 'She has a good sense of humour, our Queen,' while another expressed increased affection for the royal, stating, 'She got you, great comment.'

This charming interaction follows a less fortunate event in which Queen Mary was accidentally knocked over by an electric scooter while out with her youngest children, Prince Vincent, Princess Josephine, and King Frederik.

Thankfully, the police deemed the incident an accident, as the elderly man driving the scooter had accelerated by mistake. You can read more about it here.
