Play Time

Remember when ‘playtime’ meant hanging upside down on the monkey bars, grass stains on your knees, and no grown-ups in sight? The rules were simple: ‘Be home before the streetlights come on’ or ‘Be home in time for tea’! What was your play time game back then? Share your nostalgic stories here!

Yes, I remember playing on the monkey bars.
And I also remember falling off flat on my back onto the ground. Ouch.

I used to train for space flight and eating in zero gravity by hanging upside down from a huge willowtree in our backyard while eating sandwiches and drinking from a bottle.

It was NEVER Mothers & Fathers or Dolls. I paddled in the creek and sat up in our Loquat tree eating the ripe ones and putting the seeds down next-door's laundry pipe. I was a naughty girl.

Loquats were the best fruit as a kid, took me years but recently found one in a garden centre, it is now in my garden, not sure how many years I have to wait for it to fruit?
