Pigs In A Blanket Wreath

Welcome the holiday season with a festive twist on a classic treat! Pigs In A Blanket Wreath is a traditional holiday dish made of small sausages wrapped in pastry dough. This dish is simple to make and will be ready in under an hour. It’s a holiday favourite that’s sure to impress your guests this season.

Ingredients:
Puff pastry sheets
24 mini hot dogs
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
Egg
2 tsp. poppy seeds
Rosemary sprigs (for decoration)
Tomato sauce, for serving

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 190°C.

2. Line a baking pan with baking paper.

3. Slice the pastry sheets into thirds lengthwise. Brush each piece with Dijon mustard and wrap one mini hot dog in each sheet.

4. Place the pigs in a blanket side-by-side in a circle on the baking sheet to form a wreath shape. Each piece should be touching.

5. Brush the entire wreath with egg wash and sprinkle poppy seeds on top.

6. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the wreath is golden brown. Let cool for at least 20 minutes.

7. Lay rosemary sprigs in the centre of the wreath for decoration and place a small bowl of tomato sauce in the middle for dipping

.Optional Ways to Make the Dish Extra Special:
- Add shredded cheese to the wreath for added flavour
- Mix honey mustard and tomato sauce for a unique dip
- Swap out the mini hot dogs for a different type of sausage
