Picking passionfruit

Every home we lived in as kids always had a passionfruit vine growing over a wooden trellis, up a fence, over the roof of the chook pen, up the shed walls, over the end of the dairy or up the verandah posts and along the fence wire strung between the posts. Some had 2/3 vines in different places. The passionfruit were always so yummy, we used to pick and eat them straight off the vine. They were nice in school lunches, mum would cut them in halves and wrap in paper and we would suck the fruit out of them at school. Could be a bit messy, the juice would stain our clothes, but it was all part of growing up.
