Perplexing ordeal with Vicroads

Hi everyone I would like to tell you about an issue we are currently having with Vicroads.

My husband decided he may have a memory problem because he was forgetting past holiday dates and things like the symbols of metals and gasses on the periodic table,

He got a referral to a Geriatrician whom he saw 4 times over a 2 year period. On the last visit the Geriatrician said he was sending a medical report to Vicroads stating he had no problem with my husband driving.

2 weeks after we received a letter from Vicroads asking for a medical report from his GP. Which the GP sent also stating he had no problems with his driving.

2 weeks after Vicroads send another letter telling my husband he was to undertake an Occupational Therapy Driving Assessment. This letter had perhaps 50 OT names which we could ask to do this Assessment. We contacted about 8 and were quoted between $800 to $1000 for the OT and the driving Instructor Assessments to be paid by us.

If these are not undertaken my husbsnds licence will be cancelled.

My husband has been driving for 63 years with no accidents and only a couple of speeding fines.

He drives better than a many of the maniacs currently allowed on the roads.

Moral of the story stay away from Geriatricians.

Regards
Hrl
