I find that I get most of my exercise with the walking I do when I go shopping, and for this I am grateful. The exercise you get in your daily living is the easiest to get. Certainly I am not 93, I am 65, BUT I have been a stroke victim for 27 years, so walking is quite difficult and exhausting for me. I do make a shopping list, and have a fairly good idea of the layout of the supermarkets that I shop at, but, on some days with walking from and to the car, I have clocked 4-5km. It is an enjoyable past time, too, it gets me out of the house, AND saves me money as the mark downs due to use by date never appear on a website and sometimes are not obviously displayed at the entrance. My parents were in their early 20's during the depression and both were poor, so I have learnt cost saving from them. Certainly there have been days when tired legs have made the shopping difficult, but if I have something to do, then I can keep going.
