Page Boy

As a 13/14 year old I secured a job as a page boy at the Regent Theatre in Sydney. All decked out in a brown suit with red trim and a pill box hat. Selling Screen News for a shilling. I received a commission of one half penny for every one I sold. Standing on the steps leading to the upper level. Once interval was over we had to clean all the sand boxes of cigarette buts using a sieve, just like the ones in the kitchen. Couple of movies I remember were showing at the time were "Tea for Two" (Doris Day) and "The Jungle Queen" (Humphrey Bogart).
