Osso Buco

Ingredients

4 x (around 1kg) veal osso buco
1/2 cup plain flour
2 tablespoon olive oil
2 medium onion chopped finely
1 garlic clove crushed
1/2 cup white wine or substitute with extra stock
700 g bottle passata sauce
1 1/2 cups beef stock

Method
1. Preheat oven 170°C / 150 °C fan-forced.
2. Coat meat in flour, shake off excess. Heat oil in casserole pan. Cook meat 2 minutes each side or until lightly browned. Remove from pan.
3. Cook onion in same pan , stirring over medium heat for a few minutes until softened. Add garlic and wine,bring to the boil. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered until wine has reduced by half. Add passata and stock; return meat to pan. Spoon sauce over meat. Bring to the boil . Cover with lid or foil.
Cook in oven for 2 hours or until meat is almost falling of the bone
Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley on top (optional)

This serves 4. All one chop per person. If serving more just add extra meat, sauce with serve between 4 to 8

serve with mashed potato and a side of steamed green bean's
