What was the husband doing being at a singles Party?

Dennis R's Afternoon Joke. A cowboy rides into town and decides to stop at a bar for a drink, he is unawares that the locals have an habit of picking on strangers. The cowboy finishes his drink, heads outside and finds that his horse had been stolen. he storms back into the bar, which one of you stole my horse he yells. No one answers, OK, I am going to have another beer and when I have drunk it if my horse is not back outside I am going to do what I did in Texas and I ain't gonna like what I did in Texas. The locals look at each other and Squirming in their seats, the man does as he says has another beer, walks outside and sees that his horse has been returned to the post, he unhitches his horse and mounts up. The bartender walks outside the bar and asks, say stranger before you go what did you do in Texas? the cowboy replies I had to walk home.
