Oil stains on clothes? Aussie mum shares hack that works EVERY time

A household hack ‘queen’ has recently revealed her simple and affordable secret on how to remove oil stains from fabric, and funnily enough, it’s none other than baking soda!

Mother-of-two, Carolina, shared a video showing the process on her Instagram page with over 878,000 followers.

Carolina’s method of removing oil stains from fabric started by laying out the dirty clothing item and removing excess marks using absorbent tissue paper.

Then, she added baking soda to the shirt stain and left it to work its magic for about an hour.

While waiting, she mixed one cup of water and one cup of laundry detergent in a glass bowl and stirred them well.

She applied the mixture onto the shirt’s oil marks using a spare toothbrush then scrubbed it for a deeper clean.

Then, she ran the shirt in a regular wash. Once dried, the fresh and cleaned shirt was revealed.

Fans appreciated the simple hack and have commented on the Instagram video, with one saying: “You’re heaven-sent, girl!”

Another even joked, “I’m very convinced that baking soda and vinegar can sort out almost any issue in the household.”

Carolina McCauley calls herself the ‘Home Hacks Queen’ and has many more household hacks on her Instagram page, from problems such as removing stains and wrinkles from clothes, organising cables and wires, cleaning kitchen appliances, to various DIYs and recipes!
