OH NO!!!!!!​

OMG! Only in Darwin.......
I stopped at 7- Eleven to get a bottle of water, and as I walked onto the petrol station I noticed these two cops watching a man who was smoking while pumping his petrol. I saw him and thought, "is this man stupid, crazy, or both", especially with the police standing RIGHT there.. But anyways, I minded my own business and went inside and got my water.
As I was paying for my drink, I heard someone screaming! Like, I’m talking violent death screams.. I looked outside and I saw that this idiot's arm was on fire!! He was swinging his arm, running around like a lunatic. Like, he was bat shit crazy .. When I got outside, the cops had him on the ground and they were putting the fire out!! Then they put handcuffs on him and threw him in the police car. I was thinking, arrested?? Shouldn’t he be in an ambulance, not a police car!?? Being the nosey person I am, I asked the police what they were arresting him for. And I shit you not, one of the cops looked at me, dead serious, and said, "WAVING A FIRE ARM IN A PUBLIC PLACE”!!

This happened in a servo where I had worked as a young bloke so I know it is true. Late night petrol delivery, boss too lazy to get off his backside so tells young assistant to check the tanker is empty, young assistant climbs up on tanker, goes to check the first compartment is empty realises he left torch in the office, lights cigarette lighter to check empty, last seen in next doors back yard. Not a sheet of glass intact for some distance around servo, tanker looking sick and sorry for itself, boss will check all tankers in future, day or night, a heap of claims for broken windows. LESSON- never send a boy on a man's errand.

My mother asked my husband to install a gas stove for her. She needed to go out and asked my husband if he needed anything before she left. He responded that he needed some matches to check for leaks when he’d finished. She responded OK, and proceeded to get a box of Redheads, then left. My husband looked at me in absolute disbelief and suggested leaving her the matches might just do the community a service. The stove was safe, the cook not so!

This is not a servo incident, however, the couple were going to fill up in Katherine NT whilst heading through to Darwin, I'm talking 20 odd years ago now. When passing through the main road through Katherine around mid morning a couple of first nation people decided to procreate on the centre medium strip much to the shock of this friends mother. There is now a water sprinkler on the medium strip that can be turn on and off at will.
