'Not worth it to me anymore': Customers clamour over changes in Woolworths' Everyday Rewards

The cost of living crisis has pushed Australians to stretch their dollar further for more value.
Rewards programs from Australia's major retailers and supermarkets have helped Aussies save more or get more essentials for their homes.
However, regular shoppers of two major retail chains may soon encounter changes in their trusty reward points.
Woolworths just announced a major shake-up to its popular Everyday Extra subscription, which left many loyal shoppers feeling short-changed.
It offers perks such as double Everyday Rewards points and a 10 per cent discount on one shop per month at both Woolworths and BIG W.
Starting Sunday, 1 June, BIG W's 10 per cent monthly discount will be scrapped.
According to an Everyday Rewards spokesperson, the decision came as BIG W started focusing on 'delivering more value to customers every day' by keeping prices low across the board.
'For example, 80 per cent of BIG W's clothing range is now under $20, and 50 per cent of BIG W's home range is under $20,' the spokesperson pointed out.
'Instead, we will be introducing subscriber-only monthly deals at BIG W. We will also continue to evolve the Everyday Extra program to give members new opportunities to earn and save.'
Despite the changes on BIG W, Everyday Extra will still offer 10 per cent off per shop a month in Woolworths and double points at BIG W.
Everyday Extra members took to social media to vent their frustration about the implemented changes.
'This is quickly becoming not worth the money,' a customer shared.
'I won't be renewing mine,' another explained.
'Like others, the BIG W discount was great, especially at Christmas time.'
'So glad you told me this. I will be cancelling mine as of now. Not worth it to me anymore,' a third said.
'I pay $7 a month to save $20 if that, so really only saving $13 because take the $7 off that…absolutely ridiculous and not worth anyone paying the $7 anymore.'
'They are so dodgy getting us all to join and then slowly take away the benefits that we paid for,' one of the commenters complained.
For some, the Woolworths discount and double points may make the subscription worthwhile, especially for those doing a big monthly shop.
Yet, for those who relied on the BIG W discount, the value proposition has definitely changed.
For those reconsidering their Everyday Extra subscription, it might be worth looking at other ways to save:
Losing the BIG W discount could mean rethinking where and how to shop or even considering if the subscription is still worth it.

Yet, for those who relied on the BIG W discount, the value proposition has definitely changed.
For those reconsidering their Everyday Extra subscription, it might be worth looking at other ways to save:
- Standard Everyday Rewards: This program is free and will still let users earn points at every shop.
- Sales and clearance events: BIG W and Woolies both run regular promotions, especially during major holidays.
- Senior discounts: While not always advertised, it's worth asking in-store if there are any special offers for seniors.
Losing the BIG W discount could mean rethinking where and how to shop or even considering if the subscription is still worth it.
