Nonsense Verse on Poets Day​

I remember this little ditty that my older brother and I used to say when we were very young. Over 60 years ago. Has anyone else ever heard it?
One fine day in the middle of the night the ocean caught alight
The blind man saw it, the deaf man heard it and the dumb man rang the fire brigade.
The fire brigade came rushing around the corner pulled by a dead horse, ran over a dead cat and half killed it then put out the fire with kerosene.
