New Year’s Eve

Remember the New Year's Eve celebrations before the Harbour Bridge fireworks? Back then, Kings Cross was the place to be, a tradition that had kicked off way back in 1939. Then came 1976, the harbour took centre stage, and the spectacular fireworks displays began. How did you celebrate growing up—did you ever see those early fireworks? Share your memories here.

As a teenager a group of friends including my now hubby would spend the night at Kingscross Sydney at either The Persian room or The Palace then at 11 pm Head down to Sydney Harbour around the Opera house to watch the fireworks then it was back to The Cross where we would dance the night away until 4 am which was closing time.
Then we would catch a train home and wake up hours later in woop woop.

This was actually taken one NewYears Eve.
