New puppy causes havoc after chewing through the water supply and flooding the house

We love our furry friends here at the SDC, but we have to admit that sometimes they can be a handful – especially when they're still young and learning about the world around them.

Puppies, in particular, are well-known for their boundless energy levels and mischievous antics, which can often lead to all sorts of household disasters if left unsupervised. Just ask these poor UK dog owners.

Charlotte Redfern and Bobby Geater’s puppy, Thor, was left unattended one day and it did not end well for the couple.

The 17-week-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier decided to cure his boredom by chewing on the house’s water supply that’s linked to the kitchen fridge which promptly flooded the entire house.

The couple shared a video of their flooded rooms on TikTok, which quickly became viral after amassing 3 million views.

‘When your Staffy pup knocks through the kickboard and chews the water supply for your fridge while you’re at work,’ was the caption of the video.

In the clip, Charlotte can be seen walking around and entering rooms while showing off the soaked floors and carpet.

The culprit sat perched atop the couch, not knowing the damage he’s done.

‘The dog was just looking at me as if saying, “What have I done?”,’ Charlotte told reporters.

She added: ‘He was just totally oblivious to anything that’s happened.’ She said that Thor was just wagging his tail at her.

Bobby mused that Thor might have knocked the kickboard that covered their water pipe with one of his toys. But then he found the plastic pipe and started having a go at it.

You can watch Thor’s blunder below:

The couple said it took them five-and-a-half hours to drain their home and showed their progress in a series of follow-up videos.

Social media users found the whole ordeal amusing.

‘Think you named him after the wrong god. Loki the god of mischief suits him better,’ joked one person.

Another quipped: ‘Get a dog they said. It’ll be fun, they said.’

Someone else wrote: ‘I’m glad you still love your puppy. Some people would have got rid of him or beat him for that, but he couldn’t help it. He thought it was a good idea at the time… at least you have the cleanest floor ever.’

Despite the havoc, the couple just couldn’t stay mad at Thor. ‘He’s a puppy, so he’s going to chew things,’ said Charlotte.

Bobby added: ‘We didn't even tell him off. No matter what he does now, we can say, “Well, at least it's not as bad as that time he flooded the house.”'

Oh dear, what a mess, but puppies will be puppies
Had just got over the puppy stage with my two gorgeous tibetan spaniels and my husband thought it was a good idea to give me two adorable little toy poodle puppies for Xmas.
Here we go again 🤦💖

Do you know how far through the house 48 rolls of apricot coloured loo rolls can go? No, well, let me tell you that 6 puppies plus mum and dad can cover just about every surface, weave it between furniture legs, chew it into messy lumps pushed down between cushions, up and down the stairs over, under and around the beds, even bury some under the duvet and pillows. All because a certain person (not me) didn't quite close the kitchen door as we were going out! It took us weeks to get rid of it all, just when we thought we'd got it all another little lump of chewed up mess would appear. We never again stored our bulk buys behind the toilet in the downstairs loo. We had to laugh though and we wished we had been flies on the wall to watch the goings on. By the way, if anyone is interested they were Miniature Schnauzers. :) :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I have a puppy with a chewing problem too - French Bull x Jack Russell named "Bear". He is only 10 moths old but has already chewed & destroyed about 20 KONG toys, the electric controller for my medical bed, my son electric drum cables, 2 croc shoes, my hearing aids, 3 doggy beds, grandkids toys and the metal zippers of 7 lounge pillows. But also like you after a bit I forgive him as he is so loving & cute.20221115_130711.jpg
