New festive products hit Coles aisles this season for 2024

As the festive season approaches, Coles has unwrapped an early gift for all Australians with its 2024 Christmas range unveiling.

This year, the supermarket giant decks the aisles with more than 400 own-brand products, including 89 brand-new items designed to add sparkle and joy to your holiday celebrations.

When you enter Coles, you'll be greeted with a festive array of easy-to-cook hams, pre-prepared side dishes, and locally grown vegetables.

However, traditional fare is not the only thing that gets a makeover; Coles is also introducing 'too good to resist' dessert options that are sure to become the talk of the town.

Michael Weldon, Coles' development chef who has been Santa's helper behind the Christmas releases for eight years, shared that the collection has grown 'bigger and better' each year.

The dedication and creativity poured into the range aim to make the festive season 'fun and exciting' for families across Australia.

'It takes time, but I think the hard work translates with the stuff on shelves, resulting in this beautiful range,' Mr Weldon said.

He describes the process as 'trial and error,' where the team's commitment to innovation leads to discovering what truly resonates with the Australian palate.

Christmas at Coles isn't confined to just 25 December.

The celebration starts early in November and extends beyond Australia Day, reflecting the country's love for extended holiday festivities.

This year, Coles focuses on the celebration season with products designed to bring smiles and warmth to any gathering.

Social media plays a pivotal role in shaping Coles' festive offerings.

The team closely monitors global trends and customer feedback to ensure that each item in the range is something Aussies will love.

And it seems they've already hit the mark with one of their freezer items—the 'Tree Pops.'

These ice cream sticks, shaped like Christmas trees and covered in chocolate, have caught the attention of famous food bloggers and social media users.

Coles is also rolling out a 'Coles Finest Salted Caramel and Chocolate Star Dessert' and ice cream tubs in two seasonal flavours: 'Spiced Rum and Fig' and 'Burnt Butter and Pecan.'

For those who prefer a zesty twist, the 'Luxury Sicilian Lemon Sponge Pudding' covered in lemon sauce and sprinkled with freeze-dried raspberries will surely be a hit.

Leah Weckert, Coles CEO, emphasises the brand's commitment to convenience and affordability, especially after a challenging year for many Aussie families.

'We want to make sure our festive range is not only truly delicious but also easy to prepare and affordable so our customers can focus on what matters most—creating special moments with family and friends,' Ms Weckert said.

The development chefs, producers, and suppliers at Coles have worked tirelessly to source ingredients locally and globally.

In other news, Coles has begun stocking Christmas-themed baked goods in stores nationwide, nearly four months before 25 December.

The supermarket continues its trend of early stocking from previous years and even introduced a Christmas bakery range for those who celebrate Christmas in July. You can read more about it here.

All sounds nice, but it comes at a cost.
I am in the IGA Xmas club, put aside some dollars every pension, get a bonus from IGA then do all my food shopping in one hit just before Xmas.
Even though there would be a price difference, it still works out as a positive for us, and, there is no more stress.

To the best of my knowledge Coles do not own any factories etc. at all. I think these products are made by a major Manufacturer the way as all the other Coles brand products are.
