Netflix scam

Today I received a text saying my Netflix account was cancelled because the "payment failed". I was instructed to click on a link to ensure the payment was made. How interesting, as I do not have a Netflix account! I wonder who has been paying an account for me all this time?! Please be aware if you get one of these texts saying something about your payment not being received that it is most likely a scam designed to get your banking details. If in doubt, call your provider on their advertised number. The best advice is always to call before you click.

I actually decided to use a post office credit card for that reason, only have enough on it to pay for Netflix and my phone each month. When we want to go away I’ll put more on to pay for petrol etc.
That way I’m not using any bank account that I have, or I use cash.

Wow... It's incredibly frustrating how many scam tactics have been popping up lately. Keep an eye out, everyone!

Today I received a new scam email. It said "You have been selected for donation" and gave a link to click on. This is one of the more obvious scams that have appeared recently. Delete it immediately if you get it. At least this one is easier to identify than a lot of them.

Thanks for sharing your experience and warning us about those sneaky Netflix scams. It's crazy how these scammers try to trick us into giving away our personal info. Always better to be safe than sorry! I recently read about an interesting opportunity to get paid to watch Netflix. They have Netflix taggers who watch shows or movies and assign the right tags. Pretty cool!
