Neighbours at war! Watch the INSANE moment they spray each other with a hose and start kicking over a brick wall

We’ve all had disagreements with our neighbours before. Maybe they’re too loud, or maybe they don’t take care of their yard as we do.

But usually, these disagreements don’t escalate to the level of utter chaos like what happened with two next-door neighbours in Sydney.

According to a report, the incident started when a woman named Valentina on the content-sharing platform TikTok hired some tradies to build a small brick wall on her side of the driveway.

She did this to create more separation between her property and that of her feuding neighbours.

However, it didn’t take long for things to go south. The neighbour was caught on camera trying to stop the tradies from building the wall by using a broom and hose to sweep running water along the wall in an attempt to stop the mortar from setting.

Meanwhile, his wife could be seen at the side of the video also filming the tensions with her phone.

One of the tradies could be heard repeatedly saying ‘Move the water!’ to the male neighbour, but to no avail.

Of course, Valentina wasn’t having any of it. ‘You're ruining the wall!’ she shouted at him.

Increasingly fed up, the tradie, who was earlier trying his best to get the troublesome neighbour to stop, grabbed the hose. This led to a tug-of-war between them as water sprayed everywhere – and things quickly got out of hand from there!

The angry neighbour was then seen kicking over part of the wall that had already been built, causing several bricks to smash onto the ground. Meanwhile, his wife stood by filming and shouting orders at him.

At this point, Valentina could be heard yelling: ‘You are sick! Get to the hospital!’

‘Are you going to pay for that?!’, she added, pointing to the now ruined brick wall.

Even the tradies lost their cool at this point, airing their frustrations to the neighbours at their apparent daily interference in their work, and even demanding that they pay for their damages.

According to Valentina, her relations with her neighbours had been bad for some time before the incident was caught on video.

The video has been viewed for an astounding 7.8 million times, with over 350,000 hearts (likes) and almost 12,000 comments.

In classic social media fashion, many went to the comments section to share their thoughts.

Most were surprised at Valentina’s restraint, saying they definitely would have become physical at the very least.

‘My temper could never, I’d have absolutely laid hands on someone,’ a user said.

Others gave the benefit of the doubt, saying maybe the brick wall was already on the neighbours’ land, to which Valentina responded: ‘The brick wall is definitely not on their land.’

One wrote: ‘Just saying, there are always two sides to a story. I’ll bet any money they’re both as bad as each other.’

And in true Aussie fashion, more than one user also focussed on the water wasted in the video, with the hose turned on the entire four minutes of the clip.

Valentina also opted to give further context in a later post.

‘For everyone asking, long story short, there have been ongoing issues with these neighbours for a while now,’ she wrote.

Key Takeaways

  • Two neighbours in Sydney, Australia almost came to blows after one of them hired tradies to build a small brick wall on her side of the driveway, which the other neighbour disagreed with.
  • The neighbour tried to stop the tradies from building the wall by spraying water on the wall with a hose to stop the mortar from setting.
  • The tradie snatched the hose away from the neighbour and they engaged in a tug of war, during which the neighbour kicked the wall and several bricks smashed to the ground.
  • The woman behind the camera later posted the footage online and said they had been feuding with the neighbours for some time.
  • The video has attracted more than 7 million views and almost 10,000 comments, with many viewers taking sides in the dispute.
She then explained that the neighbours have called the police and the town council on them multiple times, and with the authorities siding with them each instance.

‘They have done all sorts of weird s*** to provoke us,’ Valentina added, claiming that the neighbours had trespassed in the middle of the night and had recorded videos of their house AND of their two-year-old child.

She also had a quick explainer of the viral brick wall incident, clarifying that the wall was being built on their land and that their work was done with approval.

In case you’re also wondering, Valentina shared that she called the police on the couple but no arrests were made.

According to the officials, she said, malicious property damage would not apply ‘because the wall wasn’t set’.

We’re not new to nasty neighbour encounters, but certainly this one would be among the more violent encounters we’ve come across.

Speaking of unpleasant encounters of the neighbour kind, check out the story of one resident that woke up to a note from a frustrated neighbour over his power tool use, as well as this birthday boy who received a nasty letter from a neighbour upset over a party he threw.

So, what do you think of this story? How would you have behaved in this situation had you been in Valentina’s place — or the neighbours’?

Both neighbours are idiots!

It never fails to shock me how people seem to think THEY have a right over & above ALL ELSE. What harm in this wall? It is not even on their property, yet they feel they have some right to conduct themselves like this. Selfish & bullying behaviour. And yes, I agree about the water wastage also. They need someone to step in & help resolve whatever issues these people have with one another.

I read this story elsewhere. Apparently it went to mediation but still wasn’t resolved. The police wouldn’t do anything because it was a civil matter. I think the neighbour who was complaining thought that the wall would make rainwater collect on his side of the fence.

Still no excuse for such behaviour.
