National Send A Card To A Friend Day

Hey, members! :)

It's been a while since we last gathered here, hasn't it? I hope everyone's been keeping well and enjoying life's adventures!

Guess what? Today's not your ordinary Wednesday—it's National Send A Card To A Friend Day! 💌 Yep, it's that special occasion where we can dust off our pens, pick out a thoughtful card, and spread some love the old-fashioned way.

In a world where digital messages flood our inboxes, there's something truly magical about receiving a handwritten note in the mail, don't you think? Whether it’s a simple ‘Hey, thinking of you’ or a heartfelt message pouring out your emotions, sending a card can brighten someone's day.

So, who are you thinking of writing to today, and what sweet message will you share? We'd love to hear about the special ways you're spreading joy today!

my pen does not need dusting because it lives beside my computer. I often use it to write to my friends in Thailand as they don't have decent internet reception. Letters go each way, often up to 5 pages and have done so for over 20 years. The other person is my beloved friend, Lyn, who lost her husband about 4 months ago. We always end our phone calls with 'I LOVE YOU'. Our friendship is over 30 years old and very precious as she lives over 30 ks out of town.

I consider we are very blessed to have longtime friends. I have one, that is an especially close friend, she is the Sister that I never had, we share a very special bond. We speak regularly, and send messages daily to each other, in the
Ordinary and not so Ordinary Trials of life
She is my go to person, frequently and I am her go to person as well.
I have a lot of friends, that I keep in touch with, but Junie is the closest one. We know we can share anything, and that it were it stays. That in itself, is precious to me.
I could waffle on forever, about any number of things, but she is absolutely
the best in so many ways.
Some friends are for certain stages of our lives, others are there forever. Junie is my forever Friend, and I am here. We love each other, and we sometimes get mushy about how we feel about each other.

WONDERFUL ISN'T IT. I wonder how many of today's kids' friendships will last like ours. I have just had a visit from a treasured friend who was a door greeter at Bunnings until cancer and 2 brain tumors got him. Thankfully he's ok now but I'd really miss My Charlie. We go back a long way.
