I got caught up in the Optus and Medibank Private Fiascos and as a result :
My Bank Accounts were frozen, I had to delete 2 email accounts, a couple of Social Media Ones and my MyGov Account plus Medicare, ATO & Centrelink all had to be rebuilt from scratch but I was very lucky as the People that I had on the phone to help me and it was a different call for each group were very patient and kind and I was eventually up and running again
No small feat that took weeks to do so anyone going through this or any form of identity theft has my sincere sympathy

The MyGov "Notice of Assessment" and "Income Statement" scam emails are coming out in force. Today I received 5 of the "Income Statement" email and yesterday I received 6 of the "Notice of Assessment" email. Of course, no details are given, such as name, tax file number, address, contact number, etc. They are all from scammers' emails. The "Notice of Assessment" is from "freddies music.rd." The "Income Statement" one is from "hosking_richard.x" They all ask for the recipient to "click here" to access your document online. The blitz attack of sending several of the same email at a time is no doubt aimed at creating a sense of urgency and getting people to act immediately. However, hopefully by now awareness of these scammer grubs is high enough that people will not fall for these disgusting attempts at swindling them out of their money. However, it doesn't hurt to remind ourselves and others to be careful.
