Music star drops surprising reveal amid marriage split: 'Impregnate me!'

In the realm of entertainment, some figures remain notoriously private, keeping their personal lives out of the spotlight.

However, new information has recently emerged, offering a rare glimpse into one artist's hidden struggles.

This revelation has sparked curiosity among fans and industry watchers, raising questions about the behind-the-scenes challenges. While details remain scarce, the story is already generating significant discussion.

As Sia, full name Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, files for divorce from Dan Bernad, her husband of two years, a surprising revelation has emerged.

The court papers, obtained by People magazine, confirm the separation just a day before the divorce filing on 18 March and disclose that the couple welcomed a baby boy, Somersault Wonder Bernad, into their lives on 27 March 2024.

This news comes as a shock to many fans who have followed Sia's career and personal journey.

The 'Chandelier' singer, who has been candid about her struggles with fertility in the past, had previously adopted two teenage boys in 2019.

Both were 18 years old at the time and on the brink of aging out of the foster care system.

Her act of adopting these boys was a testament to her long-expressed desire to become a mother, a dream she had harboured her entire life.

In her divorce filing, Sia cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for her split from Bernad.

She is seeking legal and physical custody of their son, though she is open to granting visitation rights to her ex.

Additionally, she has requested that the court not award spousal support to Bernad.

The 49-year-old artist's marriage to the producer was a relatively private affair.

The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Portofino, Italy, attended by just a handful of guests.

This low-key approach to her nuptials was in keeping with Sia's previous statements about her personal life, including her declaration in a 2020 GQ interview that she was content to remain 'single for the rest of my life' following her split from her first husband, Erik Anders Lang, in 2017.

Sia's path to motherhood has been anything but conventional.

In a heartfelt essay for InStyle in 2020, she opened up about her IVF journey and the creation of embryos with her then-husband.

'For years, I was basically walking around with my legs open like, "Impregnate me!"' she wrote.

'But I never got pregnant in any of my relationships, even when I wasn’t exactly practising safe sex. I just thought it wasn’t God’s will for me.'

However, their divorce seemingly ended her hopes of becoming a mother.

Her life took an unexpected turn after watching a documentary about the foster care system, which led her to adopt two boys who were in dire need of a loving home.

Her experience with adoption and now with her biological child has provided Sia with a 'crash course' in parenting.

She has spoken about her lessons, including patience, compassion, and setting firm boundaries.

As a single parent, she has also recognized the value of having a robust support system to navigate the challenges and joys of raising children.

As members of the Seniors Discount Club reflect on Sia's journey, it reminds us that family can come together in many forms and that it's never too late to embrace the role of a parent or caregiver.

Whether through birth, adoption, or fostering, our love and commitment can make a difference in a child's life.
