Mum's crafty hack gives Kmart jars a makeover: "Perfect gift in my book!"

When it comes to reorganising and clearing out the clutter in our laundry room and pantry, Kmart glass jars are an attractive and well-priced solution. However, one crafty mum from New South Wales has found another brilliant use for them.

Using her trusty Roland cutting machine, Daniella printed some recipes for baked goods on her Kmart glass jars and added the ingredients inside – making it a perfect gift for anyone who is also into cooking!

"They say a handmade gift shows thoughtfulness, and when you're also giving something delicious that is finished off by cooking it at home - with all the wonderful baking smells that entails - you have a perfect gift in my book!" she said.

"I actually have a home business personalising and designing items for baptisms/christenings and weddings, so my Roland cutting machine always is getting a good workout, cutting adhesive pieces of vinyl," Daniella told Yahoo Lifestyle.

"When I bought the jars home from Kmart, I was going to write the recipe on a piece of paper and keep it in the jar. But then I saw all that empty window space and thought some cute fonts and a recipe would look amazing."

The mum shared her unique use for the glass jars on social media, and it goes without saying that her post was well-received by the members of the popular Kmart Hacks & Decor Facebook Page.

The post received nearly a thousand likes in just two days, and more than a hundred people took the time to comment and thank her for the brilliant idea.

"Love this idea so much," one fellow mum wrote. Another agreed and added, "Great prezzie for teachers at the end of the year or Secret Santa!"

A nice way to let people know how much they mean to you is by giving them homemade gifts, such as recipes in a jar. Here are some lovely mason jar present ideas in case you're stumped about what to put inside them.
