Mum's $10 Coles Haul Sends Customers Into a Frenzy!

There's nothing like a good bargain, and people love to share their tips on how to get one. Whenever someone mentions they've found a great deal on something, others are quick to chime in with their own stories of finding amazing discounts.

It's almost like a competition to see who can save the most money, and people get pretty excited about it. It's always enjoyable to hear about how others managed to snag a great deal, and it can even motivate us to go out and try to find bargains of our own.

Well, such has been the case for one Coles shopper who shared how she managed to score an amazing bargain on her groceries after following a tip she saw online. Now, it's her turn to have everyone talking!

The woman, who posted in the Simple Savers Facebook group, managed to snag chicken schnitzel, mince, pork chipolatas, chicken drumsticks, milk, vanilla cupcakes, fresh vegetables, and even toilet paper – all for just $10.30.

That's right, folks! Normally, the items would cost her $120 but because of her careful planning and a little bit of luck, she was able to get their hands on the marked-down items.

Naturally, other social media users were quick to weigh in on the woman's good fortune, with some being 'envious' of her finds.

One group member wrote: 'Why does this never happen when I go shopping lol?'

'I am never lucky enough to find bargains like these! That’s awesome,' another added.

Others questioned how the retailers manage to drop the prices too quickly despite the threats of inflation.

One person asked: 'Does anyone ever think that this is one of the reasons groceries, in general, are so expensive to start with?'

Some speculated that the food was likely near its expiration date.

'We often buy meat that is expiring the next day for very cheap but never that cheap. I got big packs of lamb chops for $7 down from $24 so not as cheap but still a great deal!'

It has been suggested that getting groceries at a discount was best done in the late evening.

However, Coles has confirmed that there is no uniform policy when it comes to markdowns on groceries, so it looks like it's just a matter of luck (and timing) when it comes to snagging a bargain.

A Coles spokesperson said: 'We know our customers love good value so when a product is near its Best Before date we often mark it down so it can be enjoyed for a cheaper price, instead of being wasted.'

'Markdowns do not uniformly take place at the same time across all stores.'

'There are many things that can impact when this takes place including stock on hand, delivery schedules and team member rostering.'

It's always exciting to hear about how someone managed to snag a heavily discounted item. It's like a mini victory for all of us who love a good deal. And it's a reminder that with a little effort and luck, we can all find ways to save money on the things we want and need.

So, the next time you're at the grocery store, keep an eye out for those markdowns – you never know what kind of deals you might find!

I would love to know how and when to find bargains like these.

I remember being told by someone who worked at Coles that the workers would mark down item heavily for their family and friends.

Before I stopped on line I would shop late at night and also pop in a few times a week and never ever found bargains like this, maybe I stopped my family from getting food poisoning...I always look at the positives

Funny that someone would buy all that & not think of anyone else but how much she had saved. As I just don't like shopping at Coles I suppose it doesn't really matter to me. But the grabbing of all the good bargains by one person really riles me.
