Mum WENT ALL OUT for her toddler’s birthday party and amazed the internet – “I would’ve loved this as a child!”

Mums really do know best. One NSW based mum took to Instagram to brag about the next-level birthday party she threw for her three year old daughter– and we’ve got to admit, we’re very impressed.

Emily Douna shared several snaps and footage from the event to her Instagram followers, explaining in the captions that the party was inspired by Netflix’s Regency-era drama called Bridgerton.

“Tell me your mum just finished watching Bridgerton without telling me your mum just finished watching Bridgerton,” she teased alongside a video of the lavish kids' party.

It looked like every little girl’s dream brought to life – complete with a high tea, a stunning backdrop made of hanging white flowers, and a sign that read: “Lady Chloe Elizabeth formally welcomes you to her 3rd birthday soiree.”

And to achieve a more Bridgerton feel, copies of ‘Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers’ – which fans of the show are very familiar with – were also included, placed neatly on the table.

Several of Emily’s followers couldn’t help but express their awe in the comments, praising the mum for the fantastic idea and effortlessly pulling the theme off.

“How sweet! I would’ve loved this as a child,” said one user.

“OMG, this is the best ever! Haha, I’m obsessed. Happy birthday, sweetheart,” another wrote including the hashtag ‘#bridgertongoals’

“This is just so cute, I can’t cope,” commented a third.

It’s very likely that the mum won’t be the only one throwing a Bridgerton-themed party this year. According to data from Netflix earlier this month, the show’s second season ranked as the third most popular English TV series, only 17 days after it was released on the streaming platform.

And it’s a hit in Australia too! Parrot Analytics states: “Bridgerton ranks at the 99.6th percentile in the Drama genre. This means Bridgerton has higher demand than 99.6% of all Drama titles in Australia.”

The party that my kids still talk about was my daughters choice, to have an "indoor picnic". We cleared the family room of furniture, laid two paper table cloths on the floor and filled one with savoury (celery boats, carrot sticks, vegemite fingers, chips, cocktail sausages etc) and one sweet (lollies, popcorn, fairy bread, biscuits and cakes). The kids all sat on the floor and thought it was great fun. At the end, cleanup was a breeze, pick up the four corners of the table cloth scrunch up and throw away! the thing that floored us was that the savoury stuff totally disappeared and yet we had sweet stuff left over. Go figure!!:)

THIS IS ADORABLE!!!!! Do you mind if I replicate this idea for my own birthday party in the future? It sounds like so much fun.

Go for it, it was so easy to cater, and cleanup was quick and easy. We only used paper, plates, bowls, cups etc so it all went into the bin when finished. A quick sweep of the floor with some spot mopping and put the furniture back! Done!!

Great that the mother wanted to make the party special and the children do look cute, but 'Bridgerton'?? I'm afraid this is yet another event to fulfil the mother's needs rather than those of the children...
