When it comes to home renovations, shelling out a couple of bucks cannot be avoided.
No matter how carefully you plan and save, there are still many things that come up unexpectedly. So, it is best to be ready for these unforeseen costs.
But, what if you can save a little by using recycled and repurposed materials?
Well, for one Australian mum, the appropriate solution to her kitchen organisation problem is repurposing an unlikely Bunnings item.
Can you guess what it is?
Tasmanian mum Jen has taken to Facebook to share how she managed to save money while renovating her kitchen by using a heavy-duty Tool Trolley from Bunnings in her kitchen.
In her post, the mum admitted that she was about to ask her builder to build a custom-made cabinet to decorate a "useless wall" in her kitchen before she thought of using the toolbox as a pantry.

As it turned out, the $589 storage unit actually fits Jen's kitchen well, with its style matching her kitchen's aesthetic and its drawers being used for storing pantry supplies.
The mum also shared a photo of how she organises her pantry essentials using the Bunnings toolbox — storing her spice jars in the first drawer, her immense collection of tea bags in the second drawer, and her baking paraphernalia in the third drawer.

Jen revealed that she saved up space on her kitchen benchtop after placing the microwave on top of the trolley and keeping her pots and pans in the bottom
The mum confirmed that she did not only save up space in her kitchen, she also managed to save money, with her builder telling her that purchasing the Bunnings toolbox was a cheaper alternative than having a custom-made cabinet built for the space in her kitchen.
The post has gained traction on Facebook, with many users singing their praises for Jen's inventive, "out of the box" hack.
One person wrote: "Absolutely love it, such smart thinking. Just make sure you tuck the wheels in so you don't stub your toes."
"What a way to think outside the box. Looks great and so practical," another quipped.
