One mum has been scouring the internet for a new smaller-sized coffee table set for her living room. However, her search has proven unsuccessful after finding that all of the available options are outside of her budget range, with some costing up to $500.

That’s when she decided to go for a quick look at her local Kmart.

There, she found unexpected bargains that would later completely transform her living room space.


At Kmart, the mum first saw the Noir Coffee Table and immediately knew that it would perfectly fit the aesthetics of her living room. So she grabbed the table, which sells for $39, along with the taller Noir Side Table, which is available for $29, to complete the look.

Then she proceeded to look for tabletop decorations. To contrast the dark colour of her coffee tables, she wanted a wooden decorative accent with a touch of greens. She decided to get the Round Wooden Footed Tray, which sells for $15, and the Artificial Potted Orchid for $25.

She also picked up a Rose Quartz ($10) candle along the way, which smells lovely, according to her.

After setting up her Kmart finds in her living room, the mum said that she was amazed at how good all of the pieces look once combined together.

“I'm currently enjoying an afternoon cocktail while admiring the new additions,” she wrote in her caption.

The mum’s post was flooded with comments from fellow bargain hunters who commended her for the amazing finds.

“Your home is so lovely!” wrote one woman, adding that since orchids tend to get really pricey, she will be going to grab a faux one from Kmart instead.

A second person applauded her for the “gorgeous styling”, and praised how the new coffee tables match the rest of her house’s aesthetics, as seen slightly in the photos.

One mum even shared that she has the same coffee table as her, adding that she used to hunt for weeks just to find the specific model since they’re always quickly sold out in Kmart stores.
