Mum’s HORRIFYING find in her shower goes viral on social media

Picture this: You just woke up, feeling a little groggy after a heavy sleep. A shower is the perfect way to wake yourself up and start your day right? However, as you go to turn on the shower, it seems there are tiny little legs sticking out from your showerhead? Kinda gross and highly disturbing!

One baffled Aussie mum actually had this problem, prompting her to share her dilemma on social media.

Posting on the Cleaning & Organising Inspiration Australia Facebook page, the homeowner asked users for help in identifying the "critter" poking through the holes of her shower head.

The mum wrote: “Does anyone know what this is? I was using tweezers to pull it out.”

She also shared photos of the showerhead and the "legs" she pulled out.

Facebook users were convinced that the "thing" stuck in the shower head was "some sort of creature".

One person wrote: “I have never seen this before in my life, my initial thought when I saw this was cockroach legs sticking out.”

“Had this happen when we moved into our new house that had been vacant for six months. My daughter started screaming bloody murder," another quipped.

“I was racing around the house in a massive panic thinking someone had lost a body part or worse! Only to hear her yelling that we had worms coming out of our shower head. I thought someone died the way she carried on!”

However, a number of Facebook users pointed out that the "spiky shower demon" that others were claiming to be was actually metal shavings.

One comment read: “It is from reseating your taps. It is spindles. My partner is a plumber and knew straight away.”

“It’s the seal, same thing happened to mine. And the pressure was awful. I pulled it apart and found the seal all yuck and broken. Replace it and it was good as,” another added.

A third chimed in: “Did you have your washers serviced lately? Plumber probably shaved the pipe for a better seal.”

Others shared their stories when they first encountered the "scary" sight themselves, assuming that they had creepy crawlies in their showerhead.

One person recalled: “I thought it was spider legs and irrationally thought a whole spider was going to pop out and crawl on me while showering.”

“I just remember seeing this as a kid and being absolutely mortified thinking there were little creatures with tiny little legs sticking out of our showerhead,” another added.

A third quipped: “It’s taken me 28 years to finally find out it was in fact not tiny little creature legs.”

Hopefully, this story brought some relief to anyone who has had this issue themselves
