Mum’s coffee cup discovery will shock you—discover why an employee is under fire!

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we often look for little comforts and conveniences to make our days a bit brighter.

For many, a quick coffee stop at the local McDonald's can be just the ticket. But what happens when that small pleasure turns into a puzzling surprise?

This was the case for Tayla who expected nothing out of the ordinary when she ordered a large iced latte from her local Maccas drive-thru. However, her routine coffee run took an unexpected turn when she discovered something quite unusual about her order.

After leaving the drive-thru, Tayla noticed that her cold drink seemed to be double-cupped—an extra paper cup was housing her beverage.

This might not seem odd at first glance, but in Western Australia, McDonald's serves cold drinks in paper cups, a departure from the clear plastic cups used in other states and territories.

Upon closer inspection, Tayla realised that the large cup she thought she had received was concealing a medium-sized iced drink inside.

It appeared as though she had been given a large drink, but in reality, she had been short-changed.

Tayla shared her experience in a video that quickly captured the attention of social media users.

The clip showed her separating the two cups to reveal the medium-sized drink nestled within the large cup.

Understandably, she was taken aback by this discovery and decided to return to McDonald's to address the issue.

Tayla recounted her conversation with the store manager at the drive-thru window in a follow-up video.

She said, ‘I showed her...I took the cup the medium iced drink that I got out of the large iced cup and she was like “Oh my God”.’

‘She turned around and she absolutely blasted the person that was making the coffee.’

While Tayla filmed the encounter, she chose not to post it online, opting to protect the worker's identity.

Nevertheless, she described the manager's profound embarrassment and annoyance at the staff member's laziness.

She recounted, ‘She blasted him. She was profusely apologising to me. She was so embarrassed.’

‘She was so upset and clearly so annoyed at the staff member. He must have just been lazy.’

In the end, Tayla received a new, correctly-sized large iced coffee and clarified the cup sizes for her social media audience, who were confused by the differences.

It's worth noting that in 2022, McDonald's in Western Australia switched from clear plastic to fibre and paper-based cups for their iced beverages, with the new cups being white instead of black and larger in size.

As it came to be known, the ‘coffee cup saga’ spread like wildfire, amassing nearly two million views.

The incident even prompted a confession from an individual named Conner, who claimed to be the staff member responsible, citing a 'horrible mistake' due to incorrectly stacked cups.

While drive-thrus offer quick and convenient service, it's this very speed and convenience that can sometimes lead to errors.

Given these concerns, you might be surprised to learn that large grocery chains are considering adding ‘drive-thru-like’ options for picking up your groceries. You can read about it here.

Firstly filming the worker without consent is illegal, I bet you she wouldn't like being filmed without consent, then maybe she would.

The manager dealed with the staff member and addressed the problem. Not sure the manager would have yelled at her though.

So why did she end up posting the story ? It was dealt with.

She is just a person who likes posting every bit of her life
