Remember being woken up every morning by the sound of horses and glass bottles clinking as the milky delivered fresh milk to your door? Every bottle had a layer of cream on top, which was a treat for the kids. Who used to collect the coloured alfoil lids from milk bottles and turn them into Christmas decorations?

My dad was a milko for a couple of years and my sister and I used to help him on Fri nights / early hours of Sat morning which was double delivery. It was fun while it lasted but I was glad to have a proper weekend back once he sold it.
