Butterfly Foundation's National Helpline is a free, confidential service that provides information, counselling and treatment referral for people with eating disorders, and body image and related issues. Call 1800 33 4673, 8am-midnight AEST / 7 days a week, chat online or email.

FriendLine supports anyone who's feeling lonely, needs to reconnect or just wants a chat. You can call them 7 days a week on 1800 424 287, or chat online with one of their trained volunteers. All conversations with FriendLine are anonymous.

Fabulous List thankyou, I volunteer with Vinnes conference there are a couple groups here I hadn't heard about. Most grateful, as I'm in a sm country town not a lot of access for community

Yes it is o.k. to ask for support!!

I did this when after a bad day at work came home & a family member said something l didn't like. I remember yelling & then ....... I was standing over that person, who was on the floor & l was kicking & my wife was yelling at me to stop. I saw my G.P, told him the story & said l had to get out of my job as a prison officer, to which he agreed. (this was the same year l had attended a prison riot in which hostages were taken).

I had been seeing specialist counsellors off & on since about the age of 5 but nothing had prepared me for what had happened. Before this l had been referred to them without asking, but this time it was me who asked for a referral. I left that job shortly after while on sick leave.

Completely agree with you. Sometimes, being alone can be a great opportunity to reflect and recharge our batteries. However, it's important to remember that there's a difference between being alone and feeling lonely. If you ever feel like you need someone to talk to, don't hesitate to reach out. There are many resources available, such as the national mental health hotline, that can provide support. By the way, I'm new to this forum and it's great to be a part of this community.

Completely agree with you. Sometimes, being alone can be a great opportunity to reflect and recharge our batteries. However, it's important to remember that there's a difference between being alone and feeling lonely. If you ever feel like you need someone to talk to, don't hesitate to reach out. There are many resources available, such as the national mental health hotline, that can provide support. By the way, I'm new to this forum and it's great to be a part of this community.
