Member's Question: 'Do seniors get discounts on iPhones?'

Hey there, members!

We’re wrapping up the week with another round of our ‘Members Helping Members’ segment: your space to share tips, advice, and a little wisdom with each other.

For today, here's a question from an anonymous member:

‘Do seniors get discounts on iPhones? Having an iPhone 7 for 7 years now, I am ready to change it for an iPhone 12 or 14. I don’t mind a refurbished one.’

Got advice, tips, or experience to share? Comment down below!

If you also want to ask a question or for advice, you can always send yours via our anonymous form or simply post in our Members Helping Members forum!

Good morning, no seniors don’t get any discount from apple. However they do sell refurbished phones and other items. Google, refurbished phones from apple and see what’s available. Otherwise the apple se phones are reasonably priced new. Hope that helps you a bit.

I just got a new one and no I didn’t get a discount. If you’re going from a 7 the iPhone SE is a great phone at a good price, however the 3rd generation of it that is available at the moment is the last SE. The 16e is the replacement for it, which I ended up getting. The reasoning behind this was: $400 cheaper than other 16’s, paying off over next 3 years and was only $7 dearer than if I bought a 3rd generation SE which was already a couple of years old. It doesn’t have a home button but that was easy to get used to and camera is so much better.
If you’re buying outright I’d shop around for prices if you don’t want the 16e but something a bit older officeworks and JB Hifi price match along with some others.
Long answer for short question, sorry. Just for reference I’m 71 and not technically inclined.

When ever I upgrade my iphone, I always buy a refurbished last years model. I have not had problems with them but insist on one with a NEW battery not the existing battery.
