Member's Question: Are there grannies here teaching their grandkids how to read?

Hey there, members! We've received a message from member Lois Jessop, who has produced a story book ideal for helping grandkids learn how to read. Is it something you might be interested in?

I'm wondering if there are any Grandies who would like to help their grandchildren learn to read? I have written a little story book designed specifically for beginner readers: 'Benjamin Banjo Frog' is easy to read because every word can be sounded out letter by letter, and it's a rhyming text that children love. Benji has been recommended as a confidence booster, and is ideal for the Victorian Premier's Reading Challenge. At only $15, Benji is great value because inside there's a QR code that links to a delightful YouTube animation, narrated by (the late) Australian actor, Charles Bud Tingwell. I can receive orders via my email: [email protected]
with free delivery within Australia. Thank you for your time.

Cheers,
Lois (Frankston Author)

I taught my Children to read, just little words at first, when they were 1. The Golden Books. By the time my kids went to school they could read. As a Family from when I was growing up, we read very early in life. Our Aunty was a Teacher. So books were always part of our life, presents, etc. I carried it on to Grandchildren and now Great Grandchildren. Who are all great readers. Always a book beside the bed. As myself, I prefer a book to TV.
