They say you should aim to have two fruits and five vegetables as part of your diet every single day! And with fruit being the perfect midday snack, for many of us, it's already a daily staple. But not all fruit is created equal when it comes to longevity and ease of access. That is, without a couple of tricks up your sleeve anyway.
If you have been here with us for some time already, you may be already familiar with Chantel Mila, better known as Mamma Mila.
She’s a mum-of-two from Melbourne who has gained popularity online for sharing tips and tricks on various aspects of household living, ranging from our bedrooms and bathrooms to our kitchens.
We love her work, and she has been a huge help to all of us! Who could forget her space organisation hacks or her random tips for neatness around the house? We sure couldn’t!
Today, she has some incredible fruit-based hacks for us!
The first hack helps in cutting a slice of watermelon.
Using a knife on watermelon can be cumbersome, annoying and even flat out dangerous! Well folks, there is a solution…
You can just use a piece of dental floss! By tracing the inside of the rind with the floss, the fruit can be sliced with ease into even triangles.
Now you no longer have to worry about accidentally hurting yourself. Pretty convenient, right?

The next hack helps in juicing a whole lemon.
Mamma Mila simply rolls the fruit onto a benchtop to loosen the flesh inside. Then, she pokes a hole at the top and lets the juice flow out of the fruit, without it going dry over time. No more pushing and straining with a juicer, and even better, less cleaning up to do!

Her last hack helps in chopping a kiwi with ease.
She gently pushes a metal whisk head from an electric mixer into the flesh of the fruit, and with a twisting motion, she pulls it back. As easy as that, the kiwi flesh is sliced into bite-sized pieces.
