Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s $33million deal with Spotify goes under scrutiny over “MISSING” podcast series
Meghan and Harry's "missing" podcast series has been under scrutiny after the popular streaming platform Spotify promised that it will air a year after the estranged royal couple signed a $33million contract with them.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex nabbed the lucrative deal with the streaming giant last year, promising to start the Archewell Audio channel at Spotify's Gimlet Studios.

However, it seemed to appear that Meghan and Harry have only produced 35 minutes of content for their channel and have been completely silent on the platform since December 15, 2020.

Additionally, the Archewell Audio seemed to be notably absent from Gimlet's website.

It must be noted that the rest of Gimlet Studios' shows can be found on its website.

Neither of the Sussexes nor Spotify responded to questions about the future of the project.

Spotify's press release from last year stated that Harry and Meghan would be hosting their podcast in 2021.

The press release read: 'Archewell Audio will leverage Spotify’s global reach—with 144 million Premium subscribers and 320 million monthly active users—to spotlight powerful and diverse voices and perspectives.'

'Archewell Audio and Spotify’s Gimlet studio will release their first offering; a holiday special hosted by The Duke and Duchess that will feature stories of hope and compassion from inspirational guests in celebration of the new year. In 2021, The Duke and Duchess will produce and host podcasts that build community through shared experiences and values.'

'The first complete series from Archewell Audio and Spotify is expected next year and will be available to stream for free on Spotify.'

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their second child, Lilibet Diana, in June.

According to Vanity Fair, it was said that the estranged royal couple were taking five-months of paternity leave to take care of their second child. .

This means that Prince Harry has been taking time off from his executive position as a 'Chief Impact Officer' at BetterUP, a Silicon Valley start-up that claims to be worth $2.3billion.

Although the startup has declined to disclose the Duke of Sussex's salary, the remuneration was speculated to be at six or seven figures — the salary range of those with similar roles in California firms.

The time-off also means that the estranged royal couple would be temporarily stepping back from their multi-million-dollar deals with streaming giants Netflix and Spotify.

'What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction,' the Duke and Duchess said in a joint statement last year.

'With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other's stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.'
