McDonald's latest dessert sensation: A McFlurry touted as the 'most Australian dessert ever'

A wave of excitement has washed over Aussie fast-food lovers as the much-loved McDonald's has started a wave of nostalgia by bringing back an old menu item loved by many.

McDonald's has just confirmed the relaunch of the Milo McFlurry—and users have declared it to be the 'most Australian dessert ever'.

The $4 treat is made with vanilla ice cream blended with Milo and is available in restaurants all around the country. An unofficial poster released in August suggested that the treat will be available from the 27th of September to the 7th of November.

Users on social media were quick to share their thoughts on the dessert, with one saying: 'I had it, and it’s good!'

Social media user Nessa shared her thoughts and said: 'It’s probably the most Aussie Macca’s item ever to exist.'

However, she added: 'It tastes pretty good, but in all honesty, it just tastes like vanilla ice cream with a scoop of Milo. I feel like it would be better with chocolate soft serve with Milo nuggets on top.'

On the other hand, another social media user named Rachel commented on the Milo McFlurry and suggested: 'There is a pretty decent amount of Milo. I thought it would come with a chocolate fudge swirl.'

'It is just ice cream and Milo but the nostalgia of like spoons and Milo as a kid—this is actually really yum.'

This is not the first time Macca’s released a limited-edition McFlurry flavour as they released a Maltesers flavoured McFlurry earlier this year.

This flavour was previously available in 2012 and has returned for a limited time only.

'We know how much love there is for our McFlurry collaborations, so we are very excited to launch the Maltesers McFlurry and bring together our iconic soft serve with light and delicious Maltesers,' McDonald’s Australia’s Senior Brand Manager, Liz Whitbread said.

The flavour became a staple in the UK back in 2019 when British customers expressed their appreciation for the frozen treat.

This news also comes after McDonald’s release of a mouthwatering creation that was launched in the US last year—the McCrispy burger!

The burger has a crispy southern-style fried chicken sandwich topped with crinkle-cut pickles and enveloped in a toasted potato roll.

Many have already snapped up the opportunity to sample this offering, with some describing it as a fancy version of the McChicken burger.

'It’s a close call. It’s got a potato bun, there is definitely a crisper layer on the chicken, and it’s thicker,' Dre Pao, a snack connoisseur, said.

'It’s better than a McChicken.'

You can buy 2 cones for $1.70 or you can buy 2 cones worth in a cup with a bit of topping for $4.00. Worse still a plastic cup that holds less with a bit of topping for $4.60. It's a rip off. I keep a cup and when I buy an ice cream I get 2 cones and tip it into a McFlurry cup for $1.70 and add topping at home. Save 2.30. Have you noticed the McFlurry cups are always hollow in the middle and never as full as the ad photo. It's a real money making scam.

Milo has not been the same for almost 20 years as it used to be. They screwed with the way they make it and it has never been the same since.
Wouldn't be bothered with this because of that as well as Maccas ice cream has sulphites in it and my whole family (as many other aussies are too) are alllergic to that preservative.
