Matchbox

Now that’s a real treasure trove! This 1960s Matchbox revolving store display is a dream find for collectors. Packed with regular wheel vehicles, it’s a perfect snapshot of an era when toy cars were built to last and sparked endless imagination. These displays were a staple in toy stores, letting kids (and adults!) spin through the selection to pick their favourite miniature vehicle.

Do you remember seeing one of these in stores back in the day? Or maybe you had a collection of your own? Share your stories with us!

Oh matchbox cars oh my goodness. I remember the local newsagency used to sell them and occasionally I was lucky enough that my parents would buy one for me. I used to love racing the cars against each other across the dining room floor at home.
Would you believe I still have a small school case full of my matchbox cars.

My brother and I collected Matchbox vehicles (also things like bulldozers) as well as all the cars when we grew up in England. However when we moved to Australia we couldn't bring everything so someone else inherited the collection. I think they would be worth something today but at the time they were very commonplace and quite inexpensive to buy.

I would say that is as rare and as valueable s the cars themselves, if not moreso
