Man's trolley tactic in carpark infuriates driver: 'Imagine working that hard to be lazy'

Navigating the concrete maze of a car park can be a test of patience for many Australian drivers.

Between the hunt for a parking spot and the often slow crawl towards the exit, it's a place where manners can be forgotten.

But there's one particular behaviour that seems to unite drivers in frustration more than any other: the improper return of shopping trolleys.

This common car park annoyance was brought into focus when a motion-activated car camera captured a male shopper's actions in a Gold Coast car park.

The footage, which has since sparked a flurry of online commentary, showed the man attempting to return his shopping trolley to the trolley bay after unloading his groceries.

However, in a turn of events that left many shaking their heads, he abandons the effort and leaves the trolley wedged between two parked cars.

The video revealed the man pushing the trolley towards a spot indicated by a woman, who then walks away with a baby in a pram.

Despite successfully navigating the trolley through a narrow gap between a parked car and a pillar, the man reversed course, squeezing it back through the same tight space and leaving it to rest between the vehicles.

The owner of the car with the recording device shared the footage online, expressing their frustration at the man's apparent laziness and lack of consideration.

'Disrespectful d********s who leave their shopping cart beside your car,' the car owner lamented, confirming that the trolley had been abandoned right next to their vehicle.

The online community reacted quickly, with many expressing disbelief at the man's decision, especially given the effort he initially made to move the trolley.

‘Imagine working that hard to be lazy. Weird,’ one said.

Another pointed out that it would have been just as quick, if not quicker, to return the trolley properly, with the car owner noting that the trolley bay was only 'three or four cars away’.

To add insult to injury, the car owner also suspected that the man's maneuvering had resulted in scratches to their car.

‘I have a potentially irrational amount hatred for people who don't put their trolleys away,’ another wrote.

Perhaps the problem is in how the carparks are structured.
Surely The design should be such that this does not happen.
