Christmas is a special time of year for many people, and one of the things that makes it so special is the delicious desserts that are often enjoyed. While some people focus on the savoury side of the holiday season (turkey), others look forward to indulging in sweet treats.
There are a variety of Christmas desserts that people anticipate enjoying, from traditional favourites like fruitcakes and candy canes to more modern indulgences like chocolate truffles and peppermint bark.
No matter what your favourite Christmas dessert is, there's no doubt that it's a special treat that you usually only get to enjoy once a year.
One of the classic dessertsserved year-round in Aussie households is the Viennetta. This rich and creamy ice cream is perfect for any occasion, and its iconic layered appearance is sure to impress your guests with the fuss of baking.

The dessert is made with layer upon layer of thin, crispy wafers. These wafers are then covered in a thick, creamy layer of chocolate. The result is a dessert that is both light and indulgent, and which always leaves guests wanting a second serving.
There's also something about the way the ice cream is cut into perfect slices that just screams summer. And, of course, it's the perfect way to finish off a BBQ or Christmas lunch.
Another treat that is synonymous with Christmas is the gingerbread biscuit. These are made in all sorts of different shapes and sizes and have become a very popular item in Christmas stockings.
Keeping this in mind, what if we tell you that a brand-new item fusing the two is about to become available at Coles?
You read that right, folks! Just in time for Christmas, the retailer is poised to release the limited-edition 'Gingerbread Vienna Stick ice creams'.

The new product will be offered on a stick, removing the need for slicing and serving it and turning it into a mess-free dessert.
With a suggested retail price of $5.50 for a pack of 5, the Christmas Gingerbread Vienna Sticks are expected to arrive at Coles supermarkets soon (just keep an eye out for that bright red box when you shop at your local store).
Aside from the frozen treat, Coles also unveiled its new festive range, which includes 151 new own brand and exclusive products.
Among the new items is the Santa cheesecake with a biscuit base, vanilla cheesecake, and raspberry topping, embellished with a chocolate Santa belt. Yum!
Also available in the range is a hand-decorated Christmas tree-shaped fudge brownie and a new gingerbread decoration kit.

So, if you're looking forward to indulging in some delicious Christmas desserts this year, we don't blame you! Just be sure to savour every bite and enjoy the holiday season with your loved ones.
