Looking for more storage in your bedroom? Check out this Kmart DIY project!

Picture this: You're in your bedroom, trying to navigate your way through piles of clothes, shoes, and who knows what else. Your space is so cramped that it feels like you're in a sardine can.

But don't worry because one Aussie has found the ultimate solution to this space-saving conundrum.

She and her husband had recently downsized their living space and found themselves struggling to fit all their furniture in their new, smaller bedroom.

With a stroke of genius and the help of Kmart's Panelled Slimline Draw Trolleys, they were able to create the ultimate space-saving storage solution.

Her husband used his expert DIY skills to upcycle two of the Kmart trolleys and transform them into a custom-made storage solution that perfectly fit their space. And the best part? They didn't have to sacrifice any of their precious floor space!

Sometimes all it takes is a quick trip to Kmart and a little creative thinking to solve a storage issue. Credit: Facebook.

The Aussie mum was so thrilled with the outcome that she took to social media to share her findings to her fellow DIYers. She gushed about her husband's creation, saying, 'Just wanted to share this creation my husband made for our room. So stoked with it!'

And we can't blame her - this hack is a game-changer for anyone struggling with a small bedroom.

If you're feeling inspired and want to try this hack for yourself, here's how they did it:

First, they purchased the Panelled Slimline Draw Trolleys from Kmart, which retail for $59 (although they were lucky enough to find them on clearance for $45).

Then, they removed the wheels at the bottom and added some timber across the top to create a sturdy surface. They also added a power board in the centre, which is perfect for charging phones or plugging in a bedside lamp.

Next, they had to make sure the unit was the same height as their bed frame, so they added some wood to the bottom and top to create the perfect fit. Once everything was securely attached, they painted the unit white to match the colour palette of their bedroom.

It's worth noting that this project does require a bit of woodwork, so it's best to have some experience or a helping hand if you plan on trying it yourself. But with some creativity and some elbow grease, you can also transform a couple of drawers into a custom-made storage solution that perfectly fits your space!

The Facebook community was buzzing with excitement over this Aussie mum's Kmart hack. Comments poured in, with users calling it 'pure genius' and 'the best idea they've seen’.

The hack even inspired some creative thinking from others struggling with space issues. One person suggested using the same hack behind a narrow lounge for those who can't fit a coffee table, while another thanked the mum for sharing her idea and helping to solve their own space problem.

This is brilliant, I'll be checking this out as we don't have a headboard, this can have a dual purpose.
