Leave it to Mum

Many years ago, I went out to visit my parents in Brisbane. While I was away, my son sent me a photo of a biscuit tin with a rock on top and a post-it note saying, "Wait till Mum gets home". I asked my son what this was about. He said there was a baby 'brown' snake under the tin. I replied, "What does Dad want me to do with it?" I returned home and found the tin at the front door. I lifted the tin to find .... No snake. Move forward to earlier this month, (Oct). I received a message from my husband saying, "there is a big snake under the fridge. Can you call a snake catcher?". I sent a message to my son telling him we had a snake in the house. His reply, as I expected, was, "put a biscuit tin on it." I told him it was BIG, and Dad has put the fridge on it. I called the snake catcher and he removed the python from under the fridge. As a back story, whenever we have had mice, rats, snakes, or other pests in the house, my husband has always asked me to 'take care of it'.
About me. I am the mother of 5 wonderful children. I say I had a deal. Buy 4 get one free. I had my first 4 within 8 years and 8 years later I had my fifth. I am now a grandmother of 7 but only have 3 I can cuddle and 4 I pray to for help when things get a bit tough. I have been married over 40 years now. I love puzzles, word games and anything that gets me thinking. I am an Assistant in Nursing, and a Disability Support Worker. I am the 8th of 9 siblings, and my parents are still alive, but I have lost to siblings.
My favourite saying is, 'Growing old is compulsory. Growing up is optional.' And to end this, post... I can't navigate this site, but I am willing to try.
