The person leaving said "(name of the MD's PA) HAS one; (name of the HR Manager) IS one!".
He took his Farewell card and gift, turned on his heel and quietly walked out the door.

I've mentioned it on here before, not a retirement, but a resignation ....
Someone bought a condolence card with Sorry for your loss on the front and his resignation written inside.

Boy, have I felt like this too and a couple of times I should have, one one occassion I did and the CEO begged me to stay, I refused because I wouldn't have wanted to stay with a company that let me say what I did.

I felt like that when I left my last job.

Same deal and they even short paid me 8k on my long service until I got someone with a big stick involved. Everyday they said I was doing a great job bit when I wanted to leave , I was the a hole.
