The 25g Puranox Anti-Snoring Throat spray, sold between 11 March and 3 June, has been found to lack the mandatory labelling standards.
The omission of ingredients Xylitol and hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose poses a real risk of allergic reactions for individuals who are sensitive to these substances.
Without the proper labelling, consumers cannot check the ingredients list, potentially leading to severe health consequences if they are allergic to these components.
The ACCC has taken a firm stance on this issue, urging customers who have purchased the spray to stop using it immediately.
The batches affected can be identified by batch number 401, a use-by date of 31 December, and a barcode number of 9319598411015.
These sprays were widely available and could be found at popular outlets such as Chemist Warehouse, Terry White Chemist, Priceline, and other pharmacies.
Customers may request a refund by emailing Actor Pharmaceuticals and providing a photo of the batch number.
This comes after a home item sold at JB Hi-Fi stores nationwide has been subject to a recall due to safety concerns.
The projector mount lacked a secondary locking mechanism, which may cause the adjustable arm to fall if the projector is not removed before adjustments are made.
