Kyle Sandilands shares shocking health admission

The world of radio is often chock full with its fair share of spills and thrills, especially when you consider the ever-entertaining antics of Mr Kyle Sandilands, one of the most recognised voices on Australian airwaves.

However, the well-known radio host recently switched gears from his witticism to share something more personal and decidedly sobering.

In an unexpected turn of events, on his popular KIIS FM program, The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Sandilands opened up about his latest health fears concerning the spectre of a potential leukemia diagnosis.

Let us delve into the details: Sandilands, 52, (also a new dad as of August 2022), has previously shared that he's had a few health scares.

His confessions included struggles with dangerously high blood pressure, and to combat this, he made concerted efforts to cut down on damaging lifestyle factors like excessive alcohol and unhealthy diet.

Taking his health seriously, the star took to regular blood examinations, and it was during these routine blood tests that doctors noticed some concerning measurements.

As per Sandilands himself, the doctors warned him that if his health continues as is, he might be in for a very serious condition.

‘I’ve got something that no one here knows about,’ Sandilands started.

‘I have been doing a lot of blood tests, and I have to go get another blood test because, whatever numbers that you doctors talk about, I’m on the way up. If it gets up to 16, then I have got leukaemia.’

Unfortunately, he didn’t expound further on his statements, leaving many wondering.

Leukaemia is a form of cancer that primarily affects the body's white blood cells and bone marrow, significantly hindering the body's ability to fight infections—a frightening prospect for anyone, no doubt.

Now, the mention of the 'big C' (Cancer) can be heart-stopping for most of us, and Kyle wasn't immune to this scare. Turning to the resident doctor on the program, Dr Sam Hay (affectionately known as 'Dr KIIS'), Sandilands wanted assurance and answers.

He then asked Dr Hay: ‘What does that mean? Does that mean I’m knocking on heaven’s door? Am I going to die? Yes or no?’

The doctor, keeping the decorum and calm expected from the medical profession, encouraged Kyle to undergo additional tests just to play it safe.

Stressing the importance of a healthy lifestyle, he advised Sandilands to consider starting a cardio exercise regime and remain active throughout the week.

In a lighter vein, Sandilands responded in typical fashion, quipping about doctors all having a similar ‘concerning voice’ and even wondering aloud if marijuana use could contribute to leukemia.

This isn’t the first time Sandilands has shared health scare news. Back in 2020, he revealed that his blood pressure was 'through the roof' and he was at risk of 'dying instantly'. The situation was so grave that it led him on a lifestyle revamp, attempting to cut out unhealthy foods and finding techniques to de-stress.

Remember he is a drama queen.

Maybe he should have fixed his diet and weight along time ago.

Who states what he did unless he has Leukaemia.

My friend was diagnosed straight away, I'm under the impression if you have leukaemia it shows , you don't wait until numbers go down

If this is the truth that would be sad for him and his family, but I am once again asking why the world needs to know something so private as a health scare, I have multiple things going on healthwise in my life but I don't go on Facebook and talk about it, again its private something between my family, my doctor/s and I. I also agree they diagnose forms of cancer as quick as they can to give the best treatment.

Sometimes I think it's good to share as it may help others for eg I suffer depression and I'm not ashamed of it but I know others are or some need help and not realise it. I also have shocking medical negligence and feel people need to know.
But with Kyle he is just seeking attention

Does leukemia show up in routine blood work?
Blood tests.
By looking at a sample of your blood, your doctor can determine if you have abnormal levels of red or white blood cells or platelets — which may suggest leukemia. A blood test may also show the presence of leukemia cells, though not all types of leukemia cause the leukemia cells to circulate in

There area number of places people can get help ,they are advertised in the media. I don’t see the reason why people have to go to the media with their problems .
